US Signal Builds Fiber Optic Connection to Trivalent Group
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 17, 2008 – US Signal, a leading provider of data bandwidth capacity in the Midwest today announced the completion of a dual entrance fiber build to Trivalent Group located at 3145 Prairie St. Grandville, MI 49418.
The connection provides Trivalent Group with the ability to deliver its services across the US Signal network using US Signal’s MPLS VPN and Virtual Ethernet Services products further enhancing Trivalent Group’s Ethernet initiative. The initiative began in 2007 with the demand for larger bandwidth from Trivalent Group’s customers in Healthcare, Banking and Education.
US Signal will be able to provide Ethernet connectivity over the protected fiber connection so that Trivalent Group customers can integrate Offsite Data Storage, Collocation and Disaster Recovery solutions.
“The benefits of using this Ethernet approach allow clients reduced equipment interface costs, simplified network configurations, flexible bandwidth levels with access options, multiple services over a single loop and router functions being incorporated into Ethernet switches” said Ray Schmelzel, senior vice president, Trivalent Group.
The US Signal network, the largest in the Midwest, includes more than 700 route miles of fiber optic metro rings in 14 markets and over 4,000 route miles of long haul fiber connecting more than 100 on-off ramps, comprised of major carrier hotel locations and incumbent telephone company central offices.
